Jon Hiseman was known globally as a pioneer of British music and a progressive-rock innovator. The Times obituary called him “a fearlessly inventive drummer and an adventurous composer and band leader”. His sudden death in 2018 from a brain tumour left a huge void in the lives of family, friends, fellow musicians and all those he had met and inspired during a lifetime of dedication to music.

Repertoire Records marks the occasion of Jon Hiseman’s 80th birthday with the reissue of a seminal live album from jazz-rock pioneers Colosseum with a 24 page booklet containing tributes from his fellow musicians, friends and family. Featuring Jon Hiseman, Chris Farlowe, Clem Clempson, Dave Greenslade, Mark Clarke and Jon’s long-time wife, composer and saxophonist Barbara Thompson. 14 tracks across 2CDs are taken from performances at Stuttgart’s Theaterhaus on 11th June 2005, Music Hall, Worpswede on 23rd April 2005 and the Treibhaus, Innsbruck on 30th June 2005.

“Jon Hiseman was one of my oldest and dearest friends. Occasionally he pops into my head – still leading the band. Much missed.”
