Get On the Funk Train
All aboard the disco express, a funky train loaded with catchy hits and sexy sounds courtesy of producers Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte. They assembled the Munich Machine and this 13-track CD reminds us how modern dance and pop music has evolved, thanks to their pioneering efforts.
‘Get On The Funk Train’ has been acclaimed by fans as ‘The greatest disco album ever’ and is bound to get you up and dancing. The epic title track rolls along for 15 minutes and is expressly designed to deliver the goods.
Former singer Giorgio Moroder found fame as a songwriter and record producer before he set up his famous Musicland studios in Munich, later used by everybody from Led Zeppelin to Elton John. Working with fellow producer Pete Bellotte, the team created a unique hi-tech disco beat in their studio that yielded lots of hits and was a huge influence on House, Techno and Electronica.
Once you’ve got off the ‘Funk Train’, there’s loads more dance tracks to enjoy, including a version of Procol Harum’s ‘A Whiter Shade Of Pale’ and the irresistible ‘I Wanna Funk With You Tonight’. So, buy a train ticket, turn up the volume and boogie the night away!
