Long Distance Romancer
Mickey Jupp
Long Distance Romancer
Mickey Jupp emerged from the 1960s Southend scene and his songs have charted as cover versions by Dave Edmunds, Dr Feelgood, Nick Lowe and others.
After Stiff Records brought him back to prominence in 1978, Jupp sent demos to Lol Creme and Kevin Godley, the ex-10cc duo who had left the band a couple of years earlier. The result was 1979’s ‘Long Distance Romancer’. Musicians include Godley & Creme, the Vibrators’ Gary Tibbs and Roxy Music’s Andy Mackay.
Features single ‘You Made A Fool Out Of Me’, stage favourite ‘Switchboard Susan’ and ‘You Know What I Mean’ (later covered by country-rock legend
Rick Nelson).
Bonus track is the rare non-album single ‘Rooms In Your Roof’.
Booklet with authoritative and extensive liner notes written by respected Record Collector/Guitar & Bass author and journalist Michael Heatley, including quotes from Mickey Jupp.
Expertly remastered – superb sound - top quality reproduction. The best in the business!
